Just got a large black 2-page postcard from Sprint on Tuesday, Feb 26, 2008. It states that I’m eligible for a $300 credit towards the purchase of a new phone on each line or get two free months of credit for each line. I choose the $300 credit phone upgrade option. The card had 2 types of phones to choose from: a cheap Free Samsung flip-phone or a $99 Palm Centro PDA phone. I forgot to ask if I could get a different phone that was not shown on the card, but I’m pretty sure I could of. I was just excited to see if I could still get this offer and sell some of the Rumors that I just got in December and also sell some of the new Centros that I will be receiving. I plan to keep the 2 HTC Touch phones for sure.
My question is: Under the small fine prints, it states that to qualify for this offer, no plan changes were made, no contracts were just renewed(forgot the rest since I left the Spring Postcard at work) since Nov 2007 and I renewed my contract in Dec 2007. When I called in, number on the card, the sprint rep didn’t check or notice that I just renewed recently and told me that I can get 6 new Centros with no problems except that I just need to agree to a new 2-year contract. I have no problems with that since I’m only 2 months into my new contract. He went ahead and put the order in and said that we were done. Later, he called me back stating that he couldn’t get the computer to take the order and stated that he would have to get Telesales to order them for me and then he will personally apply the credits onto the account. I did get his Name, ID, Phone #, and Dept in case my phone bill doesn’t look right. I called back and talked to a different Sprint Rep in the same Dept and he verified that the order was placed.
You think that Sprint will pick up on this and force me to send the phones back? Since I agreed to a New 2-Year Contract, the phones are mine to do whatever I want with them, correct??? Do I have to activate them or can I just activate some and sell the rest? I know that it’s probably best to wait until I get my bill, but I would like to get some money out of the Centros to pay for my upcoming bill, $600(6 centros) + regular monthly bill(100). Should I call back and verify again??? I’m afraid that if I call back too many times, someone will figure out what happened and either charge me full price on these phones($400 each) or asked me to send all 6 phones back.
Any suggestions or input would be appreciated. Sorry if I sound greedy, but I only did this thinking it was a Slick Deal. :tu:
