Unwanted Text Messages
I get several on my phone that are sent by an computer and not a cell phone so no number shows up is there a way you can find out who is sending them and are they trac:icon_smileable. Anyone know??
Porting number out & Canceling account… Prorate charges?
Hey everyone… question about canceling an account.
If you port your number to another carrier halfway through my billing cycle, do you get some of the money back from the monthly charges? For example, if the Billing Cycle is August 1-31, and pay for the month of August in advance, and decide to port out around August 10th, will they give back the prorated amount that you don’t use from August 10-31?

I work for Sprint Advanced Tech Support, and I get lots of requests for ways to send picturemail from Windows Mobile phones and Blackberry phones. Maybe this will save a call or two. Here’s a way to get your picture sent via email to any other phone on almost any other carrier.
Send Pictures to your friend from your non-Picturemail phone
The other party *will* be charged for the text message if they don’t have a text plan.
After you figure out the correct email address, add that to your contact entry for that person.
1) You pick the photo you want to send as an e-mail,
2) Enter your friend’s phone number, followed by ‘@pktpix.com’.

3) Send your message!

Send a *real* Picturemail from your non-Picturemail phone
The other party will probably not be charged for the inbound text message.
After you figure out the correct email address, add that to your contact entry for that person.
To send a picture to a person’s mobile phone, send it as an attachment in an email to one of the special email addresses below, where xxxxxxxxxx is their 10-digit phone number. For example, if the other person is with Sprint and their mobile phone number is 555-999-1234, send it to 5559991234@pm.sprint.com It will show up on their phone just like a regular picturemail message.

This procedure is from other forum I follow it and work perfect is very easy and I add some information to facilitate the process
1) download demo version of CDMA WORKSHOP from http://www.cdma-ware.com (Not work on Windows Vista I tried it)
2) Install USB Phone driver on your computer if already installed go to next step
3) run CDMA WORKSHOP, settings at main screen on the right are as follows
(The phone must be connected to the computer but not as Mass Storage because never will assign the COM Port) The phone can’t display Connected to Computer in the Phone display.
You need to go to Device Manager and verify COM Ports to know the correct COM Port assigned to the Phone because each computer assign different com ports. I will use com6 as example.

4) you should now be able to hit <connect> if it was successful you’ll see in status bar <connected to com6>
5) now click <read> after a moment all your info will come up on left panel, phone # etc
if not display the info change to another port and repeat step 4
6) click on security tab change the right panel setting to as follows

7)now click send if done sucessfully you’ll get a popup window saying (password successful, phone unlocked)
8)note the number under <SPC/USER LOCK> the one that flashed red, this is your MSL number( 6 digit) and is used to access the edit function under ##data# or ##3282# menus and every other hidden menu on your phone
Is very easy process and avoid call sprint customer services

anyone tried overclocking their touch to get a faster processor speed?? or is it a bad idea?
Rebate confusion with phone change (within first 30 days)
I recently renewed my contract, and upgraded the phone to Palm Centro on 7/3. Now planning to change the phone to HTC Touch. The problem is that the $100 mailin rebate form has changed. The previous one expired on 7/12), and the new one runs from 7/13 to some date in november.
I am wondering if I do the switch to Touch today and activate it today, should I use the old rebate form as the date when I renewed the contract was 7/3, or use the new form as the date when I activated the new one is 7/25.
Any one of you run into this before. I would greatly appreciate any input.

So my wife is out of town and having to use the phone a lot, and she was worried about going over on our shared minutes…but we just switched to a new plan, so I can’t see usage anywhere…
Is there anything else I can do to find current usage?
Switching ti an iPhone
I have decided to purchase an iPhone and get service with ATT. The phone will be costing me nothing because my iPod, which broke, was purchased from Costco and I will be getting $300 or so dollars when I return that. And while I know the monthly plan is more, I get a student discount, and it really isn?t much more once you add the Blackberry plan (my next phone would?ve been a Curve if I stayed with Sprint). Anyway, I need advice on how I should go about porting my number and such.
I currently have 5 months left in my contract. I found someone, thanks to Craigslist, who wants to take over my plan. Additionally, he agreed to give me $100 in addition to taking over my contract. But, he lives far enough away where we could not meet in a Sprint store to do a change of contract there. So, if I were to go to an Apple store tomorrow, purchase and activate an iPhone, should I then call ATT up and have them port my number? Will doing this end my Sprint contract and result in me having an ETF fee? I want to be able to port my number, and then give the contract to the person wanting to take it over. How can I do this? Thanks in advance!

My daughters keep going over their minutes. So I want to know if there is a trick or tip to shut off their phone once their usage reaches their allocated 500 minutes? I called Sprint and they said that they cannot do it for me.
