Anyway, my finace and I want the Curve and a messaging plan. Should I ask Sprint for a discount on a new plan/phones or would it just be easier starting fresh with a new plan and canceling this account?

I have SERO 500 unlimited data, text, all that good stuff.

Should I add that exact line of service to my account, or should I switch to something else?

Also what perks you think I can get. I am eligible for a full 150 instant rebate as well.

1. Have a second kid to add.
2. Wife wants neater phones. Have to keep unlimited text. Considering everything data and everything messaging.
3. What should/might I ask for to stay with them and is it realistic to get anything over the employee discount, which I do not consider a perk. Company also coordinates 20% through Verizon and AT&T (still expensive). Sprint service in Chicago has been fine.
4. Everything data 1500 129.99 + 19.99 extra line. Everything including web-sure girls would use it if they had it-at least some. Everything messaging $99.99 + $9.99 for the extra line. Question for the difference here is what Sprint says is 3 cents mb for web on non-included plans and if they would average $40/month and how fast it can add up.

Now hardware,
1. If messaging will consider Rant. Understand it has trouble on web but fine for messaging.
2. If data, considering Centro (old) at $49.99 each or Pearl 79.99. Question here is that the everything data includes blackberry services in cost. If they are there already, is there a reason to get a Palm and not be able to use Blackberry that you are already paying for? Is one better than the other. Just kinda looks like you are paying for Blackberry in one form or another and not using it with a Palm.

All advice on how to approach this is appreciated. For me, none of that crap. Plain old basic Company phone that rings and I pick it up-no text, no email, no gps, no toys. ‘Nuff for me. Girls-dreaming of a white Xmas and spending my $$.

I know how to do this with Windows XP/Vista very easy with the Internet Connection sharing and all…but I also have to use OpenSUSE Linux on my laptop as well so I am wondering if there are any Linux folks out there who know how to tether for a successful internet connection on Linux????

From my understanding, the standard price on a Blackberry plan is $30/month, which would double my monthly bill.

Is there any way to get this discounted — what is the best way? I don’t need any more voice minutes, and usually end up using around 500 minutes/month. Any advice is most appreciated.

Here is my situation I am at the end of my contract. I currently have the HTC Touch. The plan my on is 1000min/$40, I also get 360 bonus mins. = total 1360 min/$40, nw starting at 8pm, free mobile to mobile, free 500 text, free data usage. I don’t use all of the min or all of the text so for me this is my version of the unlimited plan.

My question to you guys is what do you think I could ask sprint for to renew my contract? I have been with for 6yrs and don’t want to change my plan.

So anyways, I downloaded the connection manager and connected my phone to my laptop and was able to surf the internet. There was no password or anything. Does this mean I won’t be charged for using my phone on my laptop? Will Sprint know?

1 - buy a NEW Rant off ebay, activate it on my account, sign a new 2 year and get the $50 (or whatever it is) rebate?

2 - buy a USED Rant off ebay and do the same thing?

I’m thinking Sprint won’t let me get a rebate on a phone that’s been previously activated but I don’t see why I cannot buy a new phone on ebay, activate and still get the rebate. Does Sprint need a receipt or is just the fact that I renewed for 2 years good enough?
