I am 6+ months out of contract on 2 lines with SERO 500 on each. I’m trying to figure out what my best possible deal would be on renewing. I only need a new phone for one line, and I want it to be a Touch Pro 2, but I want both lines to at least keep the features they have now.
From researching here on SU, I know they haven’t been budging on the $350 after rebate/$150 upgrade price for the TP2. I know I can at least get the $70 credit for the line I’m not getting a new phone on, and *maybe* on the line I am going to get the TP2 on, if I get the timing right. With one or both of the credits applied, that would essentially make the cost of the TP2 be either $280 or $210 (after waiting eons for the rebate).
Any thoughts on what retentions could do for me here? As I said, I know they don’t seem to be giving people discounts on the TP2. What about getting a discounted EPRP Family 1600 to replace the 2 SERO500 lines? Could they get it down to less than what I’m paying now (around $67/month including taxes) so that over 2 years the price of the TP2 would be absorbed? What about them throwing a recurring discount onto my bill to offset the TP2 cost? I don’t have any company or other % discounts on my plan. Could they add a generic one of those?
Any and all advise you guys may have on this topic is much appreciated. Again, my goal is to end up with the same features I have now, a new TP2, for the cheapest price over 2 years.
