Get out of contract free?
Thanks
Thanks
Obviously I"ll have to go with the Everything Data 450 plan for $69.99 + $10 EVO tax. I just found out that I have a 23% discount offered through my employer too.
If I apply the 23% corp discount, it’ll extend my contract another 2 years which would keep me out of the $20/24 months credit for another year :/
I’m thinking about calling up and asking to get the EVO 4G and play dumb and not know that I would need a new plan. I’ll decline the higher priced monthly plan and hope that they’ll offer me an incentive to upgrade. If I do get some sort of discount, i’ll call in and apply my 23% dicsount like a month later.
Does that sound like it’ll work?
Thanks for any help
However, i have 2 lines w/ tmobile coming out of contract in august. I know the add a line for edfamily is $20 but have seen some get for $10. how likely to get 2 lines added for $10 per line in august.
Should I wait till all lines are out of contract so i can bring 4 lines new contract at once to sweeten the deal?
I pre-ordered the EVO at Radioshack and just found out online that law enforcement gets a 25% discount..
So today I called up a Sprint store and told the person on the phone that I was thinking about switching to Sprint and I was wondering what kind of discount I would get for working for a law enforcement agency. He told me it was 15%. I told him I thought it was 25% as I saw it online. He told me to bring him a print-out of the forum post and he would match it for me. So I’m probably gonna take him a printout of http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/135440 since it’s on the sprint website…
So 2 questions:
1. I hope he isn’t giving me this offer only because he thinks I’m a potential new customer.. because I have already pre-ordered the EVO… What do you think?
And
2. since I will be activating my line on June 4th, I’d like the discount applied right then so I don’t have to wait ~60 days for it to go into effect.. But the problem is, as far as I know, RadioShack doesn’t have the ability to apply any discounts… does that mean I will have to go to a Sprint store AFteR I activate my line and most likely have to wait for the discount?
Or can I maybe go to a sprint store the day before I pick up the evo from RadioShack, and have the discount applied immediately? In other words, would they allow me to sign a contract at the sprint store (with the discount), and then let me buy the phone from RadioShack the day after?
I’d appreciate any kind of help, thoughts or tips!!
P.S I’m pretty excited about switching to Sprint from T-Mobile, and especially about the EVO
Tl;dr- I currently have the SERO500 plan (mid contract), and want to pass that off, and get a family plan with the EVO. In detail this means….
So I have a few concerns with this process….
I don’t really care if i have to switch numbers, but it would be nice to keep the same one.
I know this is a bit long winded :irked: but its complicated. I just don’t want to get screwed in this process…
Any suggestions are more than welcome! And sorry if this was covered elsewhere to some extent… i’ve been reading around for a while about both the EVO and about what i have to do to my SERO plan. :deal:
Here’s what I’m thinking I should do:
Call Sprint and tell them that I’ve been eying the ED plan, they’ll tell me the prices and I’ll try to hustle out the $10 + $3 / 24 credit from there. If I do get them, I’ll tell them to add a note to my account to avoid any future problems. One question though, which number do I call? I heard that as a SERO user you have to call a special number does that apply when trying to move up? Some also say the best way to get the credits is to go through retentions by suggesting that I’m possibly leaving. What should I do?
Now since I only changed plans and didn’t extend my contract, I’m thinking that I can now call up Sprint and ask for the $70/line credit ($210) to extend my contract. Which brings me to my next question, I’m currently eligible for an upgrade but my contract’s end date isn’t until July, am I still able to do this or do I have to wait even more?
Anyway, assuming that I do get the $70 credits, next since I still have the upgrade eligibility I’m assuming again that I can go straight to a best buy to get the best deal on upgrading the phones. Finally after all of that, I apply my employee discount and if any problems occur, I have the note in my account to get a good chance of reapplying my monthly credits.
How do I approach this situation for the best savings? Do I go into Best Buy and preorder, then sign a new contract on the 4th? Do I call sprint cancel and tell them I want to stop my line and add a new one for the EVO? Any tips?
Thanks!
and wishing I had a big corporate discount. Mine is 15%, from what I can tell (never used it with SERO). So, I want an Evo and the wife wants something like a Pre or Moment or something. Either way, looks like we’re out of the SERO business for good.
So, what are my options for best deal here? I am OOC for at least a year now. I am thinking some combo of:
* everything data family $129.99 - 15% w/$20/24 and $70 credit = $2101/2yrs
* ED family $129.99 - 15% w/$10/24 + $70 credit = $2341/2yrs
* EPRP $109.99 + $70 credit = $2569/2yrs
anyone getting $10/24 or $20/24 on the EPRP?
Thanks, from a fellow cheapskate
