So has anyone been able to get the current TEP for free?
I want to upgrade to a Palm Pre, and have been told that the current employee plan available for it is a simply everything for around $40 a month.. I tried at the sprint store with a store rep on the phone with customer care, and it was a no go.. they wouldn’t give it to me and told me I had to drop my account to a consumer level.
Ultimately, what are my options? They tell me that the plans are now ‘grouped’ differently and the only way to get an employee plan is to do it through that company’s rep. In the past I have asked about upgrading and have been offered the current (at that time) employee plan with no questions asked other than ‘do you still work there?’. Are those days long gone? Am I stuck with the only option being pay 100/mo with possibility of a 20/24?
Any help is appreciated..
I’ve recently changed my billing address from San Jose, CA —–> to Pittsburg, CA and I was surprised how much less tax I have to pay in Pittsburg, CA compared to San Jose, CA.
I did a bit more research and found this article on Forbes.com, on how to duck your cell phone tax: http://www.forbes.com/2005/06/06/cz_…cellphone.html. However, the article only go into cellular tax rate between states. Your city or county taxes rate are much higher than your state tax. In additional to 911 tax in most cities, they even tax your total phone bill(gross sale).
I have paperless billing, so for the last few months I have tried to exprienment with different billing addresses like I would change my billing address to a hotel in Reno, Nevada (supposely to be the lowest state tax in the nation) to another address in West Virginia. I was suprise that my parent address in Pittsburg, CA has the lowest tax. Again note, I have paperless e-bill, so I dont get a thing from Sprint other than some promo stuff and whenever i resign my contract, Sprint would send me a letter of confirmation, which has my name, and no other informations, i remember.
I changed my billing address online by logging into my sprint.com
Please show us how much tax your pay in your Sprint bill and your billing address city and state.
(1)Please show how much your pay in Sprint Surchages (in some cities Sprint collect city gross sale tax under surchages), and (2)please show how much you pay in goverment fee and taxes.
Here are my tax rates from different cities:
Pittsburg, CA, 1 line (sero), March ‘10 bill
Sprint Surcharges:
Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD $0.59
California State-PUC User Fee $0.02
Administrative Charge $0.99
Regulatory Charge $0.40
————–
Total: $2.00
Goverment tax and Fees:
California State-911 Tax $0.07
California State-CA High Cost B & Adv Fund $0.05
California State-CA High Cost Part A $0.01
California State-CA Relay Service Fund $0.02
California State-Tele Fund Charge $0.01
California State-Univ Lifeline Serv Charge $0.12
————–
Total: $0.28
San Jose, CA (1 sero line), Nov 09
Sprint Surcharges
Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD $0.51
California State-PUC User Fee $0.03
Administrative Charge $0.99
Regulatory Charge $0.20
————–
Total: $1.73
Goverment Fee and Tax
California State-911 Tax $0.07
California State-CA High Cost B & Adv Fund $0.07
California State-CA High Cost Part A $0.02
California State-CA Relay Service Fund $0.03
California State-Tele Fund Charge $0.01
California State-Univ Lifeline Serv Charge $0.17
San Jose City-911 Tax $1.57
San Jose City-Utility Tax $1.06
————–
Total: $3.00
as you can see, Pittsburg, CA has no 911 tax and would save me about 3 dollars per line. I have 11 lines total. compare to San Jose, CA tax, I save about 33 dollars a month in taxes.
Please show us your sprint surchages and goverment tax and fee, and what city is your billing address.
i also have a 20% corp discount, and my account is billed as a corporate account.
I decided I need Android phones so I am switching things around. I’m trying to figure out my best bet.
The thing people seem to be doing now is ED + corp discounts + $10/24 (any way i can get 20/24 since i’m switching from SERO?)
The other thing I was thinking about was EPRP because the family plan includes more minutes (3600 instead of 3000, is that correct?)
I’m losing minutes on my SERO plans but it’s probably ok because the ED and EPRP plans include unlimited mobile, not just sprint.
Any comments or suggestions? ED or EPRP? Or combination?
One last question: my SERO plans have some seriously sick add ons that have been there forever. Like first incoming minute free and bonus 150 minutes. They even pre-dated my SERO plan. I wasn’t expecting the add-on codes to transfer plans but they did. Any chance they will carry over to whatever new plans I choose? And if not, should I think about selling those lines to someone who wants to keep a beefed up SERO plan (via a TOL or something, I’m not actually sure how to do this). The only thing is I want to keep my phone number.
Thanks guys!
Sprint has a service called zipwhip that you can log into for the purpose of texting. When I try to log in, it logs in as my primary line. I want to log in as her line, so it shows the text is from her, not from me.
I sent a email to sprint to inquire, but I was wondering if any of you fine folks knew how.
I know I can use Outlook to send messages too, but that requires me to know the users cell service, which I don’t.
I am also open to any other ideas of online text services that are "free" to use, other than billing my cell bill for texting fee’s.
She gets a new phone in a month or two and it will be a phone with keyboard, this time!
Thank you,
-Greg
Your current family plan does not support adding additional phones. However, you can change your existing family plan online to a new Sprint family plan and then add a phone. You can also add your other existing lines to your new family plan at the same time.
Is anyone else running into this problem?
Thanks in advance.
